Boy band JLS - tipped for stardom after wowing TV viewers with their performances on The X Factor - have shot to the top of the singles chart at their first attempt.
The foursome - who came second to Alexandra Burke in the TV talent contest in December - triumphed with their debut single Beat Again, knocking Cascada's Evacuate the Dancefloor into second place.
The Black Eyed Peas climbed seven places to claim number three with I Gotta Feeling, while La Roux came in fourth place with Bulletproof.
Lady Gaga rounded out the top five with her single Paparazzi.
Meanwhile, Michael Jackson continues to reign over the album charts by holding the number one spot for the fourth consecutive week following his death last month - his greatest hits collection The Essential remains in poll position.
